Bob Wamboldt appointed as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Insulation Systems at Johns Manville
14 February 2017US: Johns Manville has appointed Bob Wamboldt, currently the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Roofing Systems, as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Insulation Systems. He will succeed Fred Stephan, who is leaving the company.
Wamboldt joined Johns Manville in 2003 and has held leadership positions in the company’s Engineered Products business and in Roofing Systems. He began as Strategic Accounts Manager and later worked as Vice President and General Manager of Engineered Products North America and as Leader for the North American Fibers business in the Engineered Products Group. He has led the Roofing Systems business since 2011. Before joining Johns Manville, Wamboldt worked for 16 years at PPG with roles in their Fiber Glass and Coatings divisions. He holds a degree in chemistry from Lehigh University and is a certified Black Belt in the Six Sigma process improvement methodology.
Owens Corning’s insulation sales drop in 2016
09 February 2017US: Owens Corning’s net sales of insulation have fallen by 6% year-on-year to US$1.75bn in 2016 from US$1.85bn in the same period in 2015. Earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) fell by 21% to US$126m from US$160m. The company previously said that it expected negative revenue growth in 2016 due to a contractual dispute with a large residential customer that began early in the second quarter of 2016. In the second half of 2016 it reported stable pricing and market recovery with its residential fibreglass insulation business. Overall, Owens Corning’s sales and EBIT rose across all business lines.
