Kazakhstan: TechnoNICOL has inaugurated its new US$20m, Almaty extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation plant in the Kairat Industrial Zone. Once fully operational, the plant will have a capacity of 400,000m3/yr, AK&M News has reported. Exports to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will follow the launch of the plant’s products on the Kazakh market later in 2024.
Turkmenistan extends tender for insulation plant
13 February 2017Turkmenistan: The Turkmen Industry Ministry has extended a tender for construction of a thermal insulation plant in the Turkmenbashi district of the Balkan region. Bids will be accepted until 7 March 2017, according to the Trend News Agency.
Turkmenistan plans to begin basalt fibre production
01 July 2014Turkmenistan: A feasibility study and project documentation for the construction of plants that will produce basalt fibre is being developed in Turkmenistan, according to local media. Basalt fibre for the production of thermal insulation will be developed from domestic raw materials in the coming years. The prototypes models of the superfine fibres were produced from rocks from the fields of the Balkan Velayat Region.
