Icynene to buy Lapolla Industries for US$160m
06 October 2017US: Canada’s Icynene has offered to buy Houston-based Lapolla Industries for US$160m. Under the terms of the merger agreement Icynene will acquire all the outstanding shares of Lapolla. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of regulatory approvals. Both companies produce polyurethane spray foam (SPF) insulation products.
"Icynene is thrilled to partner with Doug Kramer, the President and chief executive officer (CEO) of Lapolla, and his team as Icynene and Lapolla combine businesses to create an innovative leader in high yield SPF manufacturing and distribution," said Mark Sarvary, CEO of Icynene.
Sika buys KVK Holding
12 September 2017Czech Republic: Sika has agreed to acquire KVK Holding, a manufacturer of waterproofing and roofing systems, including insulation products and a range of mortar products. The transaction is subject to clearance by anti-trust authorities. KVK operates six production sites: three for the manufacture of mortar products, two for bituminous membranes and one for expanded polystyrene insulation (EPS) for building envelope solutions. With these facilities Sika will strengthen its production platform and expand its geographical footprint in the growing Czech market. KVK’s relationships with major builders’ merchants will also allow Sika to enhance its presence in the Czech market.
“KVK is a proven industry leader, with a product portfolio and geographical presence that will increase our market penetration and support our growth strategy. The acquisition also brings us manufacturing expertise for waterproofing and insulation solutions,” said Ivo Schädler, Regional Manager EMEA.
Installed Building Products buys Southern Insulators
16 August 2016US: Installed Building Products has acquired Southern Insulators & Specialties, a fibreglass and spray foam insulation installer based in Covington, Louisiana. No value for the purchase was released.
"Southern has a large presence in the state of Louisiana with trailing-12 month revenues of approximately US$5m," said Jeff Edwards, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He added that Installed Building Products has completed six acquisitions, representing nearly US$53m of annual revenue, since the start of 2016.
Distribution International acquires Selle and PBI Supply
21 October 2015US: Distribution International Inc (DI), a leading distributor and fabricator in the mechanical insulation market, has acquired Selle Supply Company and sister company PBI Supply Inc, full-line distributors of insulation products and related construction materials, that specialises in the lamination of fiberglass insulation for metal buildings. Founded in El Paso, Texas, Selle and PBI Supply comprise the largest regional metal building insulation fabricator / distributor in the US.
