Ramnik Kohli appointed CEO of TechnoNicol India
17 September 2018India: Russia’s TechnoNicol has appointed Ramnik Kohli as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Indian business. Previously, Kohli was the country head for Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for Micromax Informatics, according to Asian News International. He has also worked with Sistema Shyam Teleservices as Assistant Director. He holds a PhD in Economics and Marketing from the State University of Management in Moscow, Russia.
Brian Chambers appointed president of Owens Corning
01 August 2018US: Owens Corning has appointed Brian Chambers as its president and chief operating officer (COO). Mike Thaman, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) said that the creation of a COO and Chambers’ appointment would create, “additional senior management capacity to accelerate our progress on growing the company.”
Chambers, aged 51 years, has been president of Owens Corning’s Roofing business since 2014. Prior to his current position, he was vice president and general manager for Roofing, a role he held since 2013. Chambers returned to Owens Corning in April 2011 as vice president and managing director, Engineered Solutions in the Composites business. He had spent almost four years prior as president of Saint-Gobain’s Distribution business in North America after Owens Corning’s divestiture of its Siding Solutions business where he served as president of the Siding and Building Material Distribution businesses. Over the course of his career, Chambers has held a number of senior commercial and operational roles across a range of businesses and geographies.
Gunner Smith will succeed Chambers as President, Roofing. Smith has been with Owens Corning since 2008 and has served in his current role, as Vice President of Sales, Roofing, since 2013. He will report to Chambers and will serve as a member of the company’s executive committee.
UK: Knauf Insulation has appointed Luke Davies as product manager to lead the development of its rock mineral wool range. He joins from architectural aluminium manufacturer Kawneer and brings product marketing experience in sectors including construction, retail and technology.
US: The National Insulation Association (NIA) has appointed Daniel Bofinger as its president for 2018 – 2019. The appointment was approved following a vote by the NIA members at its 63rd Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida, which took place in mid-April 2018. Bofinger is the Regional Vice President–East of FBM-SPI, which is based in Tustin, California. He has worked for FBM-SPI and its legacy companies for over 35 years.
The executive committee of the NIA for 2018 – 2019 includes Dan Bofinger, FBM-SPI as president, Dana Vlk, Distribution International as president-elect, John Lamberton, Irex Contracting Group as secretary and treasurer, Dave Cox, Owens Corning as assistant treasurer and Darrel Bailey, Performance Contracting as the immediate past president.
Regional board members include Jim Gribbins, Gribbins Insulation Company representing the Central States Insulation Association (CSIA), Joe Leo, Atlantic Contracting & Specialties representing the Eastern States Insulation Contractors Association (ESICA), Jeffrey DeGraaf, Industrial Construction & Engineering representing the Midwest Insulation Contractors Association (MICA), Matt Caldwell, Caldwell Insulation representing the Southeastern Insulation Contractors Association (SEICA), Mike Feehery, FBM-SPI, representing the Southwest Insulation Contractors Association (SWICA) and Rick Sutphin, Performance Contracting representing the Western Insulation Contractors Association (WICA).
So called ‘At Large’ members include Michael G Benoit, General Insulation Company, Laura Wells Dover, Dover Insulation, Jake Erickson, Rockwool Technical Insulation, Reid (Huck) Finn, APi, John K Freeman, Petrin, Rudy Nigl, L & C Insulation and John Stevens, Thermal Solutions. Bofinger has also selected Ronald King, NIA consultant and honorary member, and Steve Luse, Luse Thermal Technologies, as his past president advisors. NIA’s executive vice president and chief executive officer Michele M Jones and General Counsel, Gary Auman of Auman, Mahan & Furry, will be advising and counselling the executive committee and the board of directors.
US: Owens Corning has appointed Marcio Sandri as President, Composites with effect from 25 May 2018. Sandri will report to chairman and chief executive officer Mike Thaman. He succeeds Arnaud Genis who has decided to retire.
Sandri currently serves as Vice President, Global Strategy and Operations for the company’s Composites business. Prior to this role, he was Vice President and Managing Director of Glass Reinforcements, encompassing core glass fibre production, technical fabrics and specialty glass within the Composites business. He also had enterprise-wide responsibility for operations and supply chain activity. Since joining Owens Corning in 2000, Sandri had several commercial roles with responsibility for the US, Latin America, Canada, and Asia Pacific. Before Owens Corning, he worked at Dow Chemical in Latin America and the US.
Sandri holds a degree in chemical engineering from the Federal University of Parana and studied business administration at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
Rockwool appoints Bjørn Rici Andersen as Senior Vice President for Group Operations and Technology
22 February 2018Denmark: Rockwool has appointed Bjørn Rici Andersen as Senior Vice President for Group Operations and Technology. Andersen, currently working as Vice President, Group Operations, will join the Group Management role on 1 March 2018. Bernard Plancade, who has previously held this role in Group Management since 2015, will become Managing Director for Rockwool Core Solutions, based in Paris.
US: Johns Manville (JM) has appointed Eric Cremer is the company’s new Chief Human Resources Officer with immediate effect. Cremer has worked for the past two years as Director of Human Resources for JM’s Engineered Products business. In his new role, Cremer will be responsible for all aspects of JM’s global human resources and communications organisation.
Cremer worked at Merck & Co, Agilent Technologies and Kraft Foods before joining Johns Manville in 2004. Over the next eight years he held a variety of human resource (HR) positions, including North America Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations, Senior HR Manager and Regional HR Manager in McPherson, Kansas. Cremer left JM in 2012 to work as Vice President of Human Resources at Vistar in Centennial, Colo. He returned to JM in 2016 and became a member of the Engineered Products leadership team. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Labour and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Adrienne D Elsner appointed to board of Owens Corning
05 February 2018US: Owens Corning has appointed Adrienne D Elsner to its board of directors. Elsner joined Kellogg Company in August 2015. Prior to joining Kellogg Company, she served more than 20 years at Kraft Foods, including Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Her experience also includes sales roles at Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. Elsner has served on the Board of Directors of the Ad Council as well as the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. She holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Arizona and a MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago.
Óscar del Río appointed head of Knauf Insulation Iberia
25 January 2018Spain: Óscar del Río has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Knauf Insulation Iberia. He suceeds Daniele Cerutti, according to Alimarket. Del Río has worked for Knauf for 18 years in a variety of different roles. He started at Knauf Industries, one of the subsidiaries of the group dedicated to the manufacture of expanded polystyrene insulation, as a regional commercial manager. Later he becacme head of sales for Knauf Insulation in 2007 and commercial director for the Mediterranean region in 2014. He was appointed as the director general of Knauf Insulation Iberia in November 2017.
New board members take posts at RIMA International for 2018
05 January 2018US: New board members have taken posts at the Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association (RIMA) International for 2018. Doug Kinninger of Fi-Foil Company becomes the new president, Sergio Luconi of Prodex has become the vice-president and Wes Hall of Reflectix remains as secretary and treasurer. Mike Boulding of Mitex International has also joined as a director.
