TechnoNICOL to invest US$1bn in logistics automation
21 January 2025Russia: TechnoNICOL plans to invest US$1bn in automating logistics across its mineral wool plants by 2026. Russian-owned AK&M News has reported that the investments will go towards the installation of automated loading equipment and plant digital twins. This is expected to more than double labour productivity to 180,000m3/yr per worker. Plants scheduled for automation upgrades in 2025 include the Serpukhov and Chudov glasswool insulation plants.
TechnoNICOL’s total investments in automation and digitisation totalled US$2.75m in 2024.
COBOD helps build 3D printed house in Almaty
13 June 2024Kazakhstan: Denmark-based COBOD supplied its BOD2 3D printer for use in BM Partners’ construction of a house in Almaty. BM Partners designed the house, which has enhanced weather and earthquake resistance. It is fitted with expanded polystyrene concrete (EPC) insulating blocks.
TechnoNicol to upgrade Khabarovsk stonewool insulation plant
22 October 2021Russia: TechnoNicol plans to carry out an upgrade at its Khabarovsk basalt mineral wool insulation plant. The planned project will fully automate production at the plant and double its capacity. The producer expects the upgrade to improve safety, sustainability and product quality.
