Knauf and Knauf Insulation launch knauf.com
13 September 2024World: Germany-based gypsum wallboard and plaster producer Knauf and its insulation subsidiary Knauf Insulation have consolidated their online presence with a new website, knauf.com. The site offers access to the group’s entire product range. Knauf said that the shift aims to help customers to increase their productivity.
Knauf Ibérica marketing and technical director Pablo Maroto said "This new platform reinforces our commitment to innovation and facilitates access to our solutions at a global level."
Rockwool insulation used in rebuilding of Mariupol
08 December 2022Ukraine: Rockwool confirmed on 5 December 2022 that builders used some of its products in rebuilding work in Russian-occupied Mariupol, Donetsk. Rockwool clarified that it did not supply the materials, which it says had been delivered by a third party.
Rockwool's communications manager Michael Zarin said it is 'almost impossible' for the company to control distributors' activities. Zarin said "The company strongly condemns the war in Ukraine and hopes for an early solution."
Holcim completes SES Foam acquisition
01 August 2022US: Global cement producer Holcim has successfully acquired leading US independent spray foam producer SES Foam. SES Foam has a track record of double-digit growth and expects to record sales revenues of US$200m in 2022, according to Holcim. The group says that the producer stands out for its value-added services to contractors, including onsite technical instruction, business consulting, branding and lead generation support.
Global head of solutions and products Jamie Gentoso said “I warmly welcome all SES employees into the Holcim family. With SES’ leadership in thermal insulation, we are expanding our range of innovative systems for sustainable buildings, from roofing to insulation, to enhance buildings’ energy-efficiency. We look forward to entering our next era of growth together.”
Knauf reports cyber attack
08 July 2022Germany: A cyber attack compromised Knauf's computer systems on 29 June 2022, leading the producer to opt for a complete services shutdown. The group said that its IT unit successfully isolated the breach and has launched an investigation.
Knauf Insulation thanked its customers for their understanding and trust. It said "We are currently working heavily to mitigate the impact to our customers and partners – as well as to plan a safe recovery. However, we apologise for any inconvenience or delays in our delivery processes that may occur."
